Game Designer and Music Composer

This was my first officially produced game I worked on through my summer internship at Simcoach Games. I was honored to be a part of the first intern team from the University of Pittsburgh working with Simcoach Games. Our intern team was tasked with developing Simcoach Games’ first step into mixing game development with neurodivergence treatment. We were instructed to create a game for an audience of people with autism that could be used as a tool in addition to other treatments given.

I was a co-designer with another intern from the University of Pittsburgh and we worked extremely well together to design our game. We fully conceived and developed this game within our three months at Simcoach Games over the summer. I began by studying general design keystones, such as UI design, player rewards, and difficulty. My co-designer and I worked well to divide up work between ourselves including dialogue writing, level design, and wireframe development.

After development began, I shifted more into sound design, searching for sound effects I thought would fit our game and create a sound atmosphere that would be engaging and inviting for players. I discovered I could put my skills in music production to use, and I was able to develop three music tracks to be used in the game that accompanied players on their journey. I was so happy to bring one of my passions for music in my professional work. That joy I felt motivates me to continue bringing myself and my unique experiences to every project I get the chance to work on.
