Astro-Fishing

Astro-Fishing (2024)

Game Designer, Developer, Artist, and Music Composer

This was my third ever game jam and my first completing completely on my own. I challenged myself by becoming a developer, a designer, artists and musician; I was wearing many hats to ensure I could finish making this game in the time allotted. The time restriction for the development period was 3 days. The theme for this game jam was Fishing and the limitation was “No Water”.

This was my first time using pixel art to create sprites for a game I worked on. Through determination and a lot of trial and error, I’m quite happy how the art turned out. I crafted 12 unique constellations, 2 obstacles, a player character, and their fishing hook all from scratch.

I ran a few playtests with my siblings to find any overlooked bugs and to streamline gameplay to be more enjoyable and easier to pick up. Below I’ll add pictures of my notes I took during my playtests I conducted.

A few of the scripts I used within Astro-Fishing were used in the past in other games I had made or worked on.
